Getting to Munich Airport (MUC) – Train, Car & More
Munich Airport is located about 28 km north-east of the city in the Erdinger Moos. Whether by S-Bahn, car or long-distance bus – getting there is well signposted and straightforward.
By S-Bahn
S-Bahn lines S1 (via Neufahrn) and S8 (via Ostbahnhof, Marienplatz and Hauptbahnhof) connect the airport to Munich city centre every 20 minutes. The journey takes around 40–45 minutes; both lines stop directly beneath the terminals. The airport is within the MVV fare zone – the airport day ticket offers great value.
By Car
Via the A92 (exit Flughafen München) you can reach both terminals directly. From the direction of Munich, take the A9 and the motorway ring A99 onto the A92. Multi-storey car parks and long-stay car parks are available around both terminals.
By Train & Long-Distance Bus
From all over Bavaria you can travel comfortably by train to Munich Hauptbahnhof and continue by S-Bahn. Long-distance buses and airport shuttles serve numerous towns and cities in the surrounding area.
