Check-in & Baggage at Munich Airport (MUC)
Munich Airport has two terminals. Knowing where to start saves you time and stress.
The Terminals
- Terminal 1: Home to many leisure airlines and carriers outside the Star Alliance – e.g. Eurowings, Condor and Emirates.
- Terminal 2 & Satellite: Hub of Lufthansa and their Star Alliance partners, with its own satellite building (connected via a people mover system).
Between both terminals is the Munich Airport Center (MAC) with shops, restaurants and the S-Bahn station.
Online Check-in & Baggage Drop
With most airlines you can already check in online at home and drop off your luggage at the Self-Bag-Drop or check-in counter. Check your airline's baggage allowance and hand luggage dimensions in advance.
Tips for Check-in
Arrive in Good Time
For intra-European flights we recommend arriving at the terminal around 2 hours before departure, and for long-haul flights around 3 hours.
Liquids & Security
Liquids in hand luggage only in containers up to 100 ml, bundled in a transparent bag – this speeds up the security check.
